花餅アートとは

飛騨の冬の風物詩のひとつ。雪国の新年を花で飾りたい…
生花が手に入りにくかった昔の冬の飛騨では、
お正月の部屋を飾るための家族全員で行う大切な行事でした。
枯れない花ということで縁起物としても飾られております。
木の枝に紅白餅をつける姿が一般的ですが、
当体験では既成概念にとらわれず、色・形・付け方などを自由に表現し、
世界に１つだけの“花餅アート”作りをお楽しみください。

In the Old Days the winters in this area were very cold.
Because there was limited transportation during the winter season, no flowers were available.
For New Years decorations, something special was needed.
With that in mind, a new tradition began, it was called HANAMOCHI!
The entire family would gather together to help create these flower arrangements made from Mochi. The HANAMOCHI were then used for the family’s New Years decorations.
